Premature ejaculation: causes and how to last longer
Premature ejaculation is one of the most common sexual concerns in men, and it is treatable.
Common causes
- 01Lifelong tendency, which is common and partly biological
- 02Anxiety about performance, or relationship stress
- 03Erection problems, where rushing becomes a habit
- 04Less often: an overactive thyroid or prostate inflammation
What a doctor may check
Usually no tests are needed. A doctor may check for erection problems, thyroid or prostate issues if symptoms suggest them.
When to see a doctor
This is common and treatable. See a doctor or urologist if it causes you distress, or if it started suddenly alongside other symptoms.
